DeepClaude, Claude Code loop on DeepSeek
- DeepClaude routes Claude Code's autonomous agent loop to DeepSeek V4 Pro, according to the repository.
- The project keeps Claude Code CLI workflows unchanged, including tool use, file edits, shell commands, and git actions.
- The README also claims the setup can use OpenRouter or any Anthropic-compatible backend.
- Cost claims are central: Claude Code is described as $200 per month, while DeepSeek V4 Pro is listed at $0.87 per million output tokens.
- The repository cites a 96.4% LiveCodeBench score for DeepSeek V4 Pro and presents that as performance context.
- The "17x cheaper" claim remains unconfirmed beyond the repository, with no official secondary confirmation in the review set.

Citizen Lab details covert telecom tracking campaigns
- Citizen Lab published an April 23, 2026 report on two covert telecom surveillance campaigns.
- The report says the operators combined 3G and 4G signaling abuse with SMS-based device targeting.
- One campaign used a malicious SMS with hidden SIM commands to pull location data from a target device.
- The tooling reportedly spoofed operator identities and steered traffic through selected interconnect paths.
- Cellusys telemetry linked repeated operator identifiers to multi-year campaign activity.
- Infrastructure tied to operators in the UK, Israel, China, Thailand, Sweden, and other countries appeared in the traces.
- The investigation began after unusual signaling firewall events surfaced in late 2024.
- Citizen Lab said one November 2024 target was a high-profile company executive marked as a VVIP.

Notepad++, fake macOS site flagged as trademark misuse
- Notepad++ said on 2026-05-01 that notepad-plus-plus-mac.org is not an official project, according to the report.
- The project said the site is unauthorized, unendorsed, and not affiliated with Notepad++.
- The operator is accused of using the Notepad++ trademark without permission.
- The notice also says the site reused Don Ho's name and biography to appear legitimate.
- Notepad++ said it has never released a macOS version; any such claim should still be treated as unofficial at this stage.
- Don Ho said he contacted the site owner and is still waiting for a reply.

Kepler, verifiable finance AI built on Claude

- Kepler said it built a verification layer for financial-services research with Claude, with every figure traceable to the exact filing, page, and line item, according to Anthropic.
- The platform reportedly indexed 26M+ SEC filings, 50M+ public documents, 1M+ private documents, and data on 14,000+ companies across 27 global markets in under three months.
- Kepler positions the system around deterministic data infrastructure for calculation and audit, while Claude handles question interpretation, step decomposition, and reasoning.
- The company was founded in 2025 by Vinoo Ganesh and John McRaven, who previously worked on data systems at Palantir for defense, energy, and financial firms.
- Anthropic says the product targets regulated research workflows where analysts need auditable outputs for filings, deal materials, and research reports.
- The announcement comes from Anthropic's customer-story post dated April 30, 2026; external confirmation remains limited.
