GitHub made repository-level GitHub Copilot usage metrics generally available on July 17, 2026.
The Copilot usage metrics REST API now includes daily per-repository reports for both enterprise and organization scopes.
New endpoints are `GET /enterprises/{enterprise}/copilot/metrics/reports/repos-1-day?day=YYYY-MM-DD` and `GET /orgs/{org}/copilot/metrics/reports/repos-1-day?day=YYYY-MM-DD`.
Each report shows pull requests created and merged by Copilot coding agent.
The response also includes pull requests reviewed by Copilot code review, with suggestion counts broken down by comment type.
GitHub describes the data as a base layer for repository insights and AI-readiness reporting across codebases.
Access is limited to enterprise owners, billing managers, organization owners, and custom roles with the `View Copilot Metrics` permission.
The Copilot usage metrics policy must be enabled to use the new reporting endpoints.
