Google introduced Gemini 3.7 Flash on August 13, 2026.
Google positions it as its most intelligent workhorse model.
Gemini 3.7 Flash follows Gemini 3.6 Flash in the Gemini model lineup.
The launch comes three weeks after the previous model generation.
Its launch price is half the existing token price of Gemini 3.6 Flash.
The announcement references Nano Banana and Gemini Omni among related Gemini models.

Cloudflare, MCP traffic controls announced

Cloudflare One adds capabilities to identify inspected MCP traffic and show the users and servers generating it
Administrators can control direct MCP connections on managed network paths
Cloudflare Gateway uses protocol signals to detect shadow MCP traffic and enforce MCP Portal-only access
TLS decryption can associate requests with users and devices and inspect destinations, headers, and JSON-RPC payloads
Client hooks, network gateways, and server middleware provide separate control points for MCP requests
Cloudflare WriteGuard can attribute, audit, or block tool calls before execution based on risk tiers
Network inspection cannot see local stdio MCP calls or traffic outside managed paths

GitHub, license data accuracy improved

GitHub now prioritizes canonical package registries for license metadata in dependency graphs
The change covers dependency insights, SBOMs, GitHub Advanced Security license compliance, and dependency review
Registries include npmjs.org, PyPI, nuget.org, rubygems.org, crates.io, pkg.go.dev, deps.dev, pub.dev, and packagist.org
Missing license data fell from 45% to 24% across 170 million packages
ClearlyDefined remains a fallback source, while version ranges reduce the need for per-version database entries
