GitHub Apps, enterprise billing API access added
- Enterprise owners can grant GitHub Apps access to enterprise billing data
- The new enterprise billing permission supports read or read-and-write access levels
- Installation access tokens can call enterprise billing REST API endpoints
- Apps can retrieve usage data, reconcile invoices, and manage budgets and cost centers
- Billing automation no longer depends on a personal access token owned by one administrator
- App installation tokens also receive higher rate limits than personal access tokens
- The permission is available on GitHub Enterprise Cloud
